If you have not seen the great movie, The Man Who would be king, based on Kipplings book, put it on your netflix que. Ok, now the fun part! Imagine the part of Daniel, played by Sean Connery as John Lennon. Now imagine the part of Peachy, as played by Micheal Caine as played by Ringo Star. Its totally apt! John Lennon (may as well be George Harrison too )as the man who thinks that his life is some great destiny, that he was destined for great power and importance. His friend Peachy is down to earth enough to realize that luck is a bigger component in their fortune than divine will.

I love it when celebrities like Bonno do great things for worthy causes. Good for them. I love it even more when celebrities like George Clooney attribute their fortune to good luck. On Terry Gross's Fresh Air, Clooney made the point that if his ER stint had been shown on Friday rather than Thursday, he would have not had the exposure and sucess he found.

So, the more chances you take the more chances you have for sucess. But don't let it get to your head, good luck is still good luck. You do not want to end up like Daniel and Peachy, for goodness sake. Sorry about the spoiler.

Conflict is soo counter productive. And the problem with conflict is that once you are in one, you feel like you have to win. And you really sometimes can't. because to win you would have to sacrifice more than winning is worth. Then, you are left with a deficit, only a loss. So, cut your losses while you can.

Happy International Womens Day!

Happy International Womens day! Not a day to celebrate women who have the luxury of being a jet setter, but rather a day to celebrate the Economic, Social and Historical impact of Women and the womens movement. Cool huh! In 2038, Its sooo huge. There are ice cream socials, day long concerts, poetry readings and smiles everywhere!

Oh Yeah! So in the year 2007 3 high school Women get punished at school for using the word VAGINA at a high school VJ Day reading. For using a simple term like arm, hands, lips, penis, anus, leg, nose, foot. So Vagina is such a powerful word that it can not be said in public? Will the mountains fall down to the sea? Will the sky turn pink and pretty and cause us to notice it is there? Oh heavens, that's sunset and most people in 2007 are to busy looking at there cell phones to look up at the sky and appreciate its pink beauty as it turns to dusk.

So in contrast to our fearful times the word Vagina is celebrated not just as a body part name, but also as a profound expression of the beauty of life. It kind of caught me off gaurd when a couple of Women were talking, one explaining a new painting she was creating, the other listeneing intently. After hearing her artist friend explain the satisfaction she had recieved from this new creation, her friend excaimed "VAGINA!" which seemed a little silly to me, but it seemes to be an expression saved for suchh special events and much more powerful than the common (in our times) "dude".

So anyway, right on sisters. Right on Moms. Right on Patti Smith. Right on Margret Atwood. Right on Elizibeth Cotton, Anni DiFranco and Marylyn Magenity. Hope you look up at a beautiful pink sky, think of the power of creation, the power of love and the power of nuturing and think "Vagina!"
